•Her: Excellency ' Lady' Galway, attended by Mrs. R. G. Byron, left Wellington this morning for Greytown, where her Excellency formally opened the additional wards for old people which have been erected at the Greytown Hospital. • This afternoon Lady Galway opened the new home for nurses at Masterton. The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) returned to Wellington from the south today. ■ . ■ -. The' Attorney-General (the Hon;'H. G. B. Mason) will.'- leave for North Auckland this evening, and will open the new courthouse at Kaeo on Monday. Mr. J. A. Lee .Parliamentary Undersecretary in Charge of Housing, is expected to return to Wellington tomorrow. Mr. A. M. Seaman arrived from Auckland today to attend a meeting of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. ' The Rev. J. E. Blanchard, of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Wellington, and Mrs. Blanchard, are visiting Marton, and are guests at the Maori Girls 'College. ' Dr. D. Cooke, Medical Officer of Health, is visiting Wanganui. ' .-'. .Mr. J. W. Andrews, who was apr pointed to replace Mr. G. Y. ;Berry, as a representative of Lower Hutt and Eastbourne on the Wellington Hospital Board, was accorded a welcome at last night's meeting of the board. Mr. V. E. Meredith,. Crown Prosecutor in Auckland, arrived today to attend a sitting of the Court of Appeal. He will return to Auckland on .Wednesday. , -. The Very Rev. T. H. Roseveare, who has been minister of St. John's Presbyterian -Church, Papatoetoe,' for the past 15 years, has accepted a'call to St.- Peter's Church, Tauranga. Mr. Eoseveare, who will take up his new pastorate in May, has* been twice Moderator of the South Auckland Presbytery,' and was Moderator of the • General Assembly last year. X McPhail has been elected a life member of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union at the annual meeting of. delegates. Mr. McPhail has been a.member of the management committee of the union for 25 years and held the office, of president for; five years.
