In connection with the Primej Minister's meeting with the council of the Trades Union Congress on. a question of acceleration ,of defence produce tion, the "News Chronicle" says Mr. Chamberlain made it clear that thej Government is'really concerned at tha threat by dictatorships and at thai systematic co-operation between Roma and Berlin. Undoubtedly the German! re-armament scheme is. actuating th«j Government to speed up its arms pre* gramme. All factories and' arsenals will work day and night.
The unions will probably grant mosij of what Mr. Chamberlain asks, th# "News Ghronicle" states, provided thffc men's interests are.protected. . (
