According to a report received, last night, after eight days and -nights of bloody- combat on the northern sector of the Tsinpu railway, the enemy has been held up in the vicinity of Harichwang." Our troops are still engaged in a desperate struggle with the enemy oa both sides of the canal in this locality.
Severe fighting is also • occurring in' the vicinity of Yihsien, ; where, although closer to Suchow, the people still remain quite calm and are confident the enemy will be unable to make further progress owing to their troops being exposed to attack's from both, our flanks.
Our, mobile units continue to attack and harass the enemy in Shansi and North Honan, resulting in : increasing enemy casualties, daily. On the borders of Chekiang and Anhwei, up to the present, the enemy has made no material progress in their endeavour to clean up our mobile units, although their troops in this locality have been heavily reinforced for this particular purpose. .
