INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP

In the Crawford Crescent contest, competed for by the eight, lending members of the A teams, Hutt won, scoring three wins in the three matches, played. - This was the fourth .successive year in which'the Hutt team had won" the trophy. The annual contest for the Oka Hefceta: Shield between teams representing/ tl>c Masterton and Hutt Clubs resulted in tho;HliU Clubs winning the coveted trophy. Interclub matches were played against the Wairarapa and, Shandon Clubs, home and home, honours being even. Atie club recorded a victory against a team from the Nelson Club. «„„„„ Messrs. G. P. Roberts, W. G. Homo, I A Ewen, arid G.B. Ward were successful in retaining the o"Rourke Vase in the teams match played at the New Zealand championship meeting. The total membership stood at ois, comprising 281 ordinary members five mid-wek members, 25 Junior members, 154 non-playing members, and o3 absentee members. The membership at the end of 1936 was 485. Th report stated that a programme of work had been put in hand which included the formation of new tees, alteration of greens, turfing of bunkeis, and relaying of the putting green, and this ; work was steadily proceeding.
