The Oamaru Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting opened today in fine weatlifer. and attracted a large attendance. The track was'in splendid order, although a shade on the soft side. The' totalisator handled £12,209 10s, compared with £8915 10s last year, an increase: of £3294. The principal honours went to Galleon, who won the Oamaru Cup nicely from Mungatoon and Linguist, and Silver Streak won the sprint from Haughty Winner and Roseman. L. J. Ellisfurther improved his.p'osi-. tion on the championship- table by registering: three successes in the saddle, Galleon, Cocksure, and Dracula being his winning mounts.
