AN IMPROVING MAIDEN

Hunting Mint, who is engaged in the Autumn Plate at the Manawatu Meeting tomorrow, was recently second to Jacynth in1 a maiden race at Napier Park,- and as that was her best form to date she should be one to be noted for the Awapuni event.

This four-year-old mare carries the same colours as Master Cyklon, those of Mr. J. M. Paul, of Hastings, who bought her from her breeder, Miss K. Gordon. She is a bay or brown daughter of Hunting Song and the Catmint—Mon Amie mare Mon Mint, the dam also of Mon Ace, who has won races in the Bay. If there is anything in breeding she should be able^ to handle bad ground later on.
