The investment market opened quietly, but livened up in the afternoon. Price.s on the whole were fairly steady. MELBOURNE, March 23. On the Stock Exchange of Melbourne today Barriers-and gold shares were easier,- but iri spite-of-the sharp fall in New York investments generally remained steady, awaiting a definite trend in overseas affairs.
