PROPOSAL TO SHAREHOLDERS ■ (By Telegraph—Press. Association. V '■ ■ GISBORNE, This Day./; A recommendation that East Coast Airways should be absorbed by Union Airways, is contained in a circular issued to shareholders by the directors of the former company, who explain that Union Airways have agreed to take over shares at par. It is disclosed that Union Airwayshold a controlling interest in the local company, which finds its capital inadequate to permit of necessary expansion. East Coast Airways has the .distinction of being the first company licensed to carry on commercial aviation in the Dominion.
