NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day.

The 1940 conference of the Federation of New Zealand Justices' Association is to be held in "Wellington, it was decided at today's session of the national conference at New.Plymouth. It was pointed out tliat the conference would be a momentous one coinciding with the centenary celebrations and probably representative of Justices of the Peace from Australia and other parts of the Empire. ■Officers were elected as follows:— President, Mr. W. C. Weston (Taranaki); vice-president, Mr. J. M. Jenkins (South Canterbury): .registrar and treasurer, Mr. A. J. Stratford (Auckland); reference officer, Mr. H, W. Shortt.
