MAORI GULLY

WHY WASH-UP IS DEFERRED

(By Telegraph—Pi-ess Association.) GREYMOUTH, This Day. The Maori Gully dredge on Thursday reached the high reef blocking the entrance to Waimea Creek. The wash-up was postponed to allow the full crew to proceed with blasting operations.

It is expected that the dredge will get through into the creek at the end of next week and the wash-up will then take place.

Dredging the creek is expected to provide work for at least three months or at most six months. The claim will then be.considered as worked out. After the company had sank sixteen scout bores at a cost of £370 on Cameron's option area, prospecting was discontinued as the directors considered the results insufficient -to warrant close boring.

Other areas are now under consideration. .
