RUTHERFORD BIOGRAPHY
A forthcomirig publication which will be'eagerly awaited iri New Zealand is a biography of Lord Rutherford by Mr. Ivor Evans, entitled "Man of Power: The Life Story of Lord Rutherford," writes '.'The Post's" London correspondent. It will be published by Stanley Paul and is designed to reveal Lord Rutherford as a man as well as a scientist.
Lord Rutherford was himself partauthor of a memoir of Sir Grafton Elliot Smith, the anthropologist, who was born in'New South Wales a fortnight before Lord Rutherford's birth, and died on New Year's Day,.1937..5ir Grafton Elliot Smith had already begun his autobiography but was unable to complete the task, so the few fragments "'which" he left are being "preserved as the basis of a memoir ,which' is being completed by a group of friends and edited by Mr. Warren R. Dawson. It will be published in the spring by'Jonathan Cape under ( the title, "Sir Grafton Elliot Smith: A Biographical Record'by his Colleagues." The contributors include eminent workers in diverse fields in which Sir Grafton distinguished himself.
