SWIMMING BATH FOR NGAIO
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—"The Post," dated 14th inst, publishes an interesting item which will be read by the residents of Ngaio with envy. I refer to the opening of the new municipal swimming bath at Eketabuna costing £1600. The residents of Ngaio have been agitating for a swimming bath for fourteen years and the item has appeared on the Wellington City Council's schedule for consideration at an estimated cost oil £4000, but has not materialised. Karori was more fortunate and now has a well-patronised swimming bath which has cost £8000, and is still haying money spent to further improve it. We have inspected baths in various provincial- towns costing approximately £2000—a type of bath which would be appreciated by Ngaio-ites. Now, Sir, we would like to know what is the difference between municipal and county engineering on the\ same job of £2000 against £8000?— We are, etc., NGAIO-ITES.
