LOWER HUTT CONTRACTS The Parliamentary Under-Secretary in Charge of Housing (Mr. J. A. Lee) announced yesterday that under the Government's housing scheme contracts at Lower Hutt' had been let as follows: 16 houses, G. R. Norman; 6 houses, H. H. Beasley, Ltd.; 15 houses, Fletcher Construction Company, Ltd. . Tenders were also being called, Mr. Lee said, for the erection of a further group of houses under the scheme, comprising 11 single houses and one twohouse unit in Waterloo Road and Raymond Terrace, Lower Hutt. Tenders would close on Wednesday, March1 2. , Other contracts had been let for the erection of 49 houses at Orakei, Auckland; 19 atWhangarei; 13 at Dargaville; four at Hamilton; and. 14 at Whakatane.
