The British Government has ap« proached both sides in Spain and offered its services in any niove to produce "an agreement leading to a reduction of' danger to the civil population from indiscriminate bombing from the air. . The Basque Children's' Committee considers that the bombing of open towns will make it impossible to send children back from England. Answering a question in the House of Commons on the sinking of the. Endymion, the Foreign Secretary out* lined steps which have been taken to strengthen the naval patrols in the Mediterranean in agreement with the other Nyon Powers, in view of a t suggestion that they are confronted with a renewal of acts of piracy, which the Nyon arrangement o* last September successfully suppressed. Steps are also being taken to obtain a full report of events in relation to the sinking of the Endymion.
