TION

.'■•■. MASTERTON, February 2. An address, was given by Mr. J. Robertson, M.P., at a well-attended meeting of the Wairarapa Trades Council held on Monday night. The opening part of the evening was devoted to an interesting discussion on matters of vital interest to trade unionists and seasonal workers and had reference to sustenance payments. Mr; Robertson quoted some interesting figures showing what the Government. had done, in respect of unemployment. He stressed the importance of co-operation among trade unions, and said it was only by that method that the workers could achieve the principles they stood for. At the conclusion of his address Mr. Robertson was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, and in response to a request he agreed to give.another lecture at a later date. ■ - ;
