ONLY HALF-HEARTED
CONFISCATION OF PAPER
(Received January 25, 3 p.m.)
LONDON, January 24.
The confiscation of Herr Streicher's paper "Der Stunner" was carried out in a half-hearted manner throughout Germany owing to the authorities disagreeing with the ban. .
It was reported in yesterday's cable messages that the German Government had confiscated the latest issue of Herr Streicher's paper "Der Stunner," which had excelled itself in demanding death for infringement of the Nuremberg laws against racial disgrace, namely love affairs between Jews and Aryans, its contention being backed by quotations from Herr Hitler's "Mem Kampf ' purporting to support its views. Herr Hitler broke off a flight from Berlin to Munich, landed at Nuremberg, and gave Herr Streicher a piece of his mind. The Propaganda Ministry later announced that "Der Stunner" had been banned indefinitely.
