LORD GALWAY'IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, January 24.

The Governor-General of New ZeaI land, Lord Galway, in an interview, said that occasions such as the New South Wales anniversary celebrations emphasised the strong bonds which held the Empire together and added to their strength.

He hoped that when' New Zealand was celebrating its Centenary, a cordial welcome would be extended to Australians, enabling them to reciprocate New Zealanders' visits to Australia on this occasion.

Lord Galway will visit Canberra and Melbourne.

He and Lady Galway were met on arrival by Lord Ranfurly, representing the Governor-General, and by Sir Earle Page, Minister of Commerce and Health, and the Deputy Premier, Mr. M. Bruxner. Lord and Lady Galway will stay at Admiralty House with Lord Gowrie.
