FALSE PRETENCES

On one of two charges of making false statements for the purpose of obtaining benefit under the Employment Promotion Act, Ewart William Butt was admitted to probation for two years by Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. He was convicted and discharged on the other. Butt was ordered to make restitution to the Department of the amount of £20 9s Bd.
