RACES AT PETONE

The Redding Cup race for senior pairs and the Jenness Cup race for novice pairs were conducted by the Petoae Rowing Club on Saturday. The final of the former, event is to be rowed'next weekend. . Results were as follows:— REDDING CUP. First Heat.—W. Watson (str), G. [jeopard (bow), 1; R. Sharon (str), D. Mac Donald (bow), 2. Won By two lengths. ■■••.--■■ x Second Heat—D. J. Boswell (str), L. Won by half a length after a neck and neck struggle all the, way. ■ Fourth Heat—F. Cassidy (str), C. Bafraclough (bow), 1; W. Lind (str), H. Te Puni (bow), 2. Won fairly comfortably by three lengths. First Semi-Final.—Watson and Leopard, 1; D. J. Boswell and Benge, 2. Won by 1& lengths. Second Semi-Final.—Linney and H. Barraclough, 1; Cassidy and C. Barraclough, 2. W,on by a length. ; , .
