I SYDNEY, January 23. j Chief results in the New South j Wales athletic championships are:— i 220 Yards.—J. Mumford, 1; T. Hamp!son, 2. Time, 22 3-ssec. 880 Yards.—C. Hall, 1; L. Golf, 2. Time, 2min 0 3-10 sec. Hop, Step, and Jump.—D. Miller, 48ft 9J-in, 1. Pole Vault.—-W. Cartwright, 12ft 7in, 1. Hammer Throw.—X. Pardtry. Some of the visiting athletes participated in invitation handicaps. The 100 yards was won by C. Holmes (England) off scratch, in lOsec; the 880 yards, B. Ecles (England), lmin 57 1-10 sec; hammer throw, G. Sutherland (Canada), 154 ft lOJin, which is an Australian record; discus throw, E. Coy (Canada), 142 ft 7in, which is a New South Wales record.
