ANNIVERSARY DAY
LONDON, January 20,
The Australian colony in London has arranged a series of anniversary services and gatherings for January 26.
At 9.45 a.m. the Australian High Commissioner, Mr. S. M. Bruce, will broadcast^a message to Australia, after' which tliere will be a special Australian session linking England and Australia. A former Sydney resident, the Very Rev. P. A. Micklem, provost of Derby, will conduct an Australian service at 11.15 a.m.
Later a wreath will be placed on the tablet to Governor Phillip at St. Mildred's Church, Bread Street parish, in which Governor Phillip was born.
Distinguished people will attend an "at home" at Australia House in the afternoon.
The christening of the new L.M.S. engine for New South Wales will take place at Euston Station.
"The Times" announces the simultaneous publication of an Australian anniversary number on January 26 in Britain and. in the Commonwealth.
