OBITUARY

M. DE FLEURIAU

(British Official Wireless.) (Received January 21, 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, January 20. The newspapers record the death irt, Egypt of M. de Fleuriau, formes* French Ambassador in London.

M. Aime Joseph de Fleuriau, Grandtj Officer of the Legion of Honour, G.C.B.i' G.C.V.0., was born at La Rochelle in 1870 and entered the French Diplo* matic Service in 1895. He was Secretary of Embassy at Constantinople, and at London under the late Paul Cambon and was French Minister in China in 1921-24. From 1924 to 1933 he was French Ambassador in London. He married Mile. Pauline Bardac and had one daughter. Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, and Bristol Universities conferred honorary degrees upon him. .
