A GIGANTIC SUNSPOT

The present gigantic sunspot, which was mentioned in "The Post" a few days ago and which was the subject of a cable message yesterday, is easily visible to the naked eye. The cable message says that its area is estimated at 3,500,000.000 square miles and that it is one of the largest sunspots since 1875. Officers at the Dominion Observatory state that the sunspot which appeared at the beginning of October last year, and of which particularly good observations were made, was equally as large, if not larger.
