DISORDER AT CHEFOO
POLICE RIOTS REPORTED
(Received January 17, 11.45 a.m.) SHANGHAI, January 16. Following a report from the American Consul that disorder had broken out at Chefoo after the departure of Chinese troops, the American cruiser Marblehead has been ordered thither from Tsingtao. It is reported that a hundred
Chinese so-called special .police arc looting Chinese shops and firing pistols in (he air. The foreign community of Chefoo includes '200 Britons and 82 Americans.
