Next Saturday the club is holding a Held clay, shooting over ranges, 300, 500, 000, UOO, 900, and 1000 yards, .suvfii .shots to count at each range. Tlio competition is a handicap shoot, and the highest aggregate wins for one yuar the cup donated by Mr. F. Hunter, Petone. Shooting will commence at 9 a.m. After the shooting finished on Saturday, members of the club met at CrcsswcJl's tearooms, where afternoon tea was taken in honour of a club member, Mr. R. H. Nicholl, who is, leaving for Australia this week with a team of rifle shots representing New Zealand to compete in the rifle meeting in connection with the 150th arini-l versary celebrations. Speeches were made by President W. M. Jackson and Deputy President R. E. Flaws. Mr. Nicholl suitably replied. All members wished our guest of honour farewell and the best of luck.
