MASSED BANDS' DISPLAY

Five bands, the Regimental Pipe Band, Institute Silver, Artillery, Wellington Regimental, and the Legion of Frontiersmen, participated in the massed bands display at the Basin Reserve yesterday, each band conyerging on the reserve from a given point and subsequently giving individual marching displays, massed band performances, and incidental numbers. The. brass bands did two counter-marches playing "Sandhurst." The combined bands then played "God Defend New; Zealand," under the conductorship of Mr, H. Baker. A fanfare o fall cornets followed under Mr; H. Bowman, and the massed bands then played the march "Our Director," under the conductorship of Mr. . Iremonger, followed later by the massed march, "Our Comrades."
