When Alfred James Smart pleaded guilty in the Police Court to six charges of giving false fire alarms, the police stated that there had been 79 such alarms in the past year, The accused, however, could not be. connected^ with others, than those mentioned .in the charge, Smart was a man on sustenance, arid he blamed drink for his conduct. He Was remanded until Monday for a probation report.
