Passengers on the trip north from Dunedin included the Hon. F. Jones, Minister in charge of Air Transport, Group Captain the Hon. H. A. Cocnrane, Group Captain T. M. Wilkes, Controller of Civil Aviation, Wing Commander M. Isitt, Mr. N. S. Falla, J chairman of directors of Union Airways, Mr. F. M. Clarke, manager of Union Airways, Captain J. W. Burgess, sen., Commander B. A. Blythe, chief pilot of Union Airways, and senior pilots of the company.
Mr. C. G. White, a member of the directorate of Union Airways", Mr. V. B: Dwyer, of the Internal Affairs Department, and Lieutenant-Colonel the Hon. T. W. White, Australian Minister of Customs, joined the boat at Wellington for the trip north.
