The stock market recovery .continues. - City business men agree that while- there is nothing to encourage hope>: of a spectacular recovery 1938 should see firm markets with possibly a revival in the spring.
COMMODITY MARKETS SLACK
(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copvrifrht) LONDON, December 19. Holiday influences are already apparent in the commodity markets; The •volume of business is very small. Metals are disappointing. Tin has fallen sharply, while encouraging November copper statistics' have not affected prices. The rise in the world refined stocks is only 31,000 tons. Acually , stocks fell, if the United States is excluded.
