EXCURSION TO PICTON.
The ever-popular excursion to Picton on Boxing Day will this year again be made by the Rangatira. Scheduled to leave Wellington at 8 a.m., the Rangatira will arrive at Picton about 10 30 a.m., most of the time being spent in the sheltered waters of Wellington Harbour at one end and Tory Channel at the other. A special train will leave Picton for Blenheim at 10.50 a.m., returning before the ' steamer leaves. There will be lio lack of entertainment for those who decide to stay in Picton. Sailing races are to be held in the harbour, and- trips- to many of the beauty-spots on the other side of Queen Charlotte Sound will, be madeby special launches run in connection with the excursion. The small steamer Tuatea will make a three-hour cruise to Grove Arm and Double Bay. Leaving on the return trip at 2,30 p.m., the Rangatira should arrive at Wellington shortly after § pJJU
