So dense was the smoke that at-times the 'men•" we're forced to use respirators. Extensive' damage was done to the stock of Dowling, Ltd., by smoke and. water and the woodwork of the building < was badly burned. The second floor, occupied by Vickery Electrical Company, was slightly damaged and a little water found its way to the ground floor. :
