SUED BY HIS PARENTS

DOCTOR MAKES COMPROMISE

SAN FRANCISCO, December 2.

An extraordinary lawsuit was brought by the parents of a 30-year-old doctor, who was being sued for repayment of 8117 dollars 13 cents, alleged to have been spent on his education.

His mother, giving evidence, produced a complete list of expenditure on her son since he was aged 21. It included every item of clothing, also food delicacies sent to him while he was studying. She explained that she had mortgaged her home in order to educate him, adding "My husband and I often went hungry."

The Judge interrupted her with the comment that the suit should be settled by compromise. "The family tie is one of the most precious things in the world," he said.

It was announced after a conference, that the parents had dropped the suit, the son having agreed to pay a monthly allowance to his parents and to liquidate the mortgage.
