EFFORT FOR PEACE
LEADERS' DISCUSSIONS
WASHINGTON, December 2.
Mr. Wrn. Green, president of the Federation, of Labour, and Mr. G. L. Lewis, head of the Committee for Industrial 'Organisation, met for the first time in seven months in an effort to avert a breakdown of the peace negotiations between the two bodies which they represent.
No. conclusions were reached, and the discussions are to be resumed tomorrow.
The parties are expected to discuss first of all possible proposals for amendment of the constitution of the American Federation of Labour; secondly, the creation of machinery to make the peace agreement effective; and, thirdly, a special convention for the purpose of ratifying the agreement.
