Today' meeting completes the first round of competition, the grouping of the clubs being the same as for the first meeting. Track competitors are graded on their best performances, irrespective of distance. This means that an A grade 100 yards runner is A grade for all events. The grading committee found it impossible to separate field competitors into three grades, but this is to be done after today's meeting when the committee hopes to have sufficient data to revise into three grades. For grading purposes field events have been separated into throwing events and jumping events. Club secretaries are expected, !n their own $lub interests as well as in the interests of the sport, to give what

guidance they can to the grading com* mittee in respect to the capabilities of new and unknown entrants.
Additional events at today's meeting were to be the first parade of club teams for the Kitto Shield, and men* and women's relay races.
