A novel feature of the holiday tour to the West Coast, which is being planned for young men by the V.M.C.A., will be the swimming events points competition sponsored by the YM.C.A. Swimming and Life-saving Club Handicap races will be swum in salt water at Picton, Kaikoura, and Hokitika. in the hot baths at Hanmer Springs, and the cold lakes of the glacier region. The series will conclude with swimming and diving at the Christchurch tepid baths. The tour will extend from Christmas Eve until January 3, and there are still several vacancies. Swimming and life-saving will likewise have an important place in the programme of the YM.C.A. annual camp for boys, to be held at Otaki, where the association has a permanent camp on a sunny site near the foothills of the Tararuas. A prospectus will be sent to parents upon request. _____
