THE MILK SUPPLY
. Mrs. H. Buddie presided over a recent meeting of the Kelburn branch of the League of-Mothers and extended a most: cordial welcome to members and friends. It was announced that the creche is now in full working order and members were urged to interest young' mothers in the branch, and to assure them that their little ones would be well cared for while the mothers enjoyed an hour or so of relaxation.;
Mrs. Geo. Castle contributed' three much appreciated recitations, which were heartily applauded.
' Mr. R. L. Andrew was the speaker, and he had chosen as his subject, "The Scientific Control of Milk Supply." He showed an intimate knowledge of _ his subject, and illustrated the different points made with test tubes and liquids of various colours of which there was a great array. He also showed various charts demonstrating the different food values of milk constituents and comparing them with other foods showing the ratio of proteins, carbohydrates, etc., etc., that each bore to each. Altogether a comprehensive and interesting address.
Mrs. Murray proposed a hearty vote of thanks for the address on what was practically safeguarding the public health,. tendering special thanks for all the trouble the speaker had gone to to demonstrate his points.
Tea and the National Anthem concluded a very instructive afternoon.
