LOCAL CUP TRIALS

■ Crews and yachts to represent Wellington in the national X-class (Sanders Cup), I class (Idle Along Cup), and Z class (Cornwell Cup) yachting championship contests are to be found by a series of trials beginning on the harbour tomorrow afternoon, and continuing all day Sunday, and again the following weekehd. Alexander). . - The sailing committee has already had its preliminary meeting and has selected No. 1 course for tomorrow's racing. All races start and finish at Point Jerningham. In their final instructions the committee emphasise the absolute necessity of carrying clear numbers on both sides of the sails. Failure to do this will lead to disqualification. Tomorrow and Sunday afternoon's races will start at 3 p.m., 3.10, and 3.20 for X, I, and Z classes respectively. The morning races start at 10.30, 10.40, and 10.50.
