WOMEN

GIRLS ROUGHLY HANDLED

(Received Ifovember 17, 10.15 a.m.)

MIAMI, November 16.

A hundred masked and white-robed men' and women broke into a night club early this morning and attacked 40 patrons. They overturned and broke chairs and tables and dragged - two waiters into the street, where they beat them severely. They searched in vain for the absent proprietor and burned a huge cross in front of the place. Some hours before the Ku Klux Klan had held initiation ceremonies in a public park. An investigation has been spurred by the revelation that the- raiders roughly handled three girl entertainers, choking one into unconsciousness.

The owner of the club announced that he.will reopen the premises tonight, despite a warning from the raiders.
