INVERCARGILL, November 16.

The: hearing of the case in which Thomas Robert Edwin' Moss, Morton Mains, claimed from the Crown the sum. of £1955 damages for' injuries received when his hand came in contact: with the tablet apparatus on the Morton Mains railway station on October 14. was concluded in the Supreme Court today.

The jury returned a verdict in favour of the defendant, and added the following rider: "We do not consider cast-iron a suitable metal for the construction of an apparatus of this type." .■•-•■
