BILLIARD TITLE

PLAY IN AUSTRALIA NOT

FAVOURED

(Received November 17, 2.10 p.m.)

LONDON, November 16.

Joe Davis, the English professional billiards champion, does not favour Lindrum's suggestion that British billiards players should go to Australia to compete for the world title. He says: "When I went to Australia and was absent- from England for seven months, I finished on the wrong side financially. . There is a vast difference between the, English player going to Australia and the Australian player going to England, but if the governing body in Australia indicates that it will guarantee financial success to English visitors there will be something to start discussing."
