The lovely grounds of Mr. and Mrs.. R. P. Whitehead's home at Stokes Valley were the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, when Audrey Joyce, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead, was married to Eric Spenseley, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs". S. D.' Thomson, "Kamahi," Stokes Valley.- The Rev. G. W. Hunt officiated at the ceremony. ■ .

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a graceful trained gown of magnolia french satin fastened with tiny buttons from the neckline to the waist at the back. Long sleeves, puffed tv elbow .length and tight fitting to the wrist, were also featured. A tulle veil caught to ,the head with a becoming halo formed a long, billowing 'train, and a sheaf of magnolia-tinted arum lilies was carried. ~

The matron-of-honour, Mrs. Raymond Whitehead, wore a frock of phlox pink, georgette embossed in leaf design, with a picture hat of pink stiffened net; She

Percy Paris, M.A., was the officiating . clergyman,. and Mr. Clement Howe presided at the organ. The ■'bodice was buttoned up the front to a Peter Pan collar and the sleeves had a high puff at the shoulder with a long''slimfitting cuff. A shower bouquet: of cream roses arid carnations completed an effective ensemble. There'were .two',bridesmaids, the Misses Joan Carrad arid/Grace Will, who wore long frocks of royal blue ninon over tomato-red satin, with short puff sleeves, and V-shaped corsages finished with small covered buttons. Mrs. A. Mathie sang "Thanks be to God" while the bridal party was in the vestry, and the bride was afterwards presented, with a silver horseshoe by little Valeric Moug. The reception was held in the Pioneer Club rooms, where the floral decorations—pale pink roses.r carija"tions, sweet' peas and poppies,: and rriauve rhododendrons—were a; special feature. Mesdames Vernon and Long received' the guests, the former wearing a becoming gown of dove-grey crepe de chine, with a patterned :lace coat of the same shade and' a hat of black shiny straw.: Her bouquet was of deep red roses with v autumn-tinted foliage. Mrs. Long wore a full-length black coat over a black: crepe de chine frock and a black hat swathed with coloured trimming. Her bouquet was pink roses and heliotrope primulas. The Rev. Mr. Paris proposed the toast Of the ' bride and bridegroom, and Mr. F. Pears that of the bridesmaids. Mr. S. A. Broadbelt, an old friend of the Vernori ■ family, proposed the toast of. the bride's parents, and, Captain Peterson that of the bridegroom's parents. Messrs. Long, Vernon, and Hawke suitably, replied. A number of old friends from. Feildingy Levin, and Nelson^ were present and'many congratulatory telegrams were received. The bride travelled in a satin-backed navy taffeta.coat over a frock-of blue taffeta cloque of a lighter shade, and a smart hat to match. Her future home will be at Korokoro. '
