ADDINGTON WINNERS

Thanks to the efforts of Lucky Jack, who raced at the New Zealand Metropolitan Meeting three times for a first, a third, and a fourth, his owner, Mr. W. T. Lowe, headed the list of winning owners with £1425. Mr. G. J. Barton's team won A. 960, and Mr. H. Stafford's two horses, Pot Luck and Flotsam, earned £850. Mrs. E. Berryman was next on the list with £815, which her two trotting geldings, Wahnooka and Captain Bolt, won for her. Mr. W. Johnstone will collect £650 through the agency of Kir-g's Play and Lady Fame, and Mr. G. H. Hudson, of Dunedin, wih benefit by £500 as the result of the victory of Twos Loose in the New Zealand Derby Stakes. The success of Frisco Boy has earned £400 for his joint owners, Messrs. J. E. and H. L. Augusf;, of Wellington. Next come Mr. G. Stanley with £450, and Mrs. E. E. Butcher with £450, then Messrs. W. J. Gudsell £400, C. Johnston £375, E. C. McDermott £375, and D. R. Revell £350. C S. Donald was the most successful trainer with six wins to his credit; He started six horses at .the meeting, and Captain Bolt and Plutus won two races each. Village Guy, and Wahnooka cne each. He was also the most successful horseman with six. wins. ■ • ■ . M. B. Edwards was second on the list of winning trainers with three successes, due to Frisco Boy twice, and Twos Loose. R. B. Berry, S. A. Edwards, and M. Holmes each trained winners of two events. The leading horsemen apart troth C. S. Donald were J» Bryce, jun., four wins; E. C. McDermott, M. Holmes,S. A. Edwards, andß. B. Berry, two each. ■ ' "■ ; Jack Potts was the most successful sire. His progeny, in Lucky Jack and Pot Luck, won two of the principal handicap events, and Twos Loose was successful in the New Zealand Derby Stakes. Frisco Boy took the honours in two races. Wrack, Peterwah. and Rey' de Oro were next with three winners each, and Nelson Derby had two to his credit.

The committee of the Victorian Racing Club has decided to add £500 to the stake for the Newmarket Handicap, which will bring it to the Australian Cup level, namely £3000.
