JOHNSONVILLE WARNING

It was reported to the Johnsonville Towh Board last night that the cost of supplying water for the four1 weeks ending October 25 was greater than for the three pievious months. The present consumption was about 140 gallons a day ior each house compared with the usual 60 or 70 gallons, and 100 gallons during a previous dry summer. The cost was £51 3s 'compared with £37 previously. ' The excessive consumption was largely due to the continuous running of,hose3 at night.

The board decided to.issue a warning to householders that cpnsurhption was excessive and, that the cost of the pumping station was becoming prohibitive, and unless economical measures were taken restrictions would have to be imposed.
