EXPEDITION TO VISIT ISLAND

(Received November *, 9.30 a.m.) I LONDON, November 4. Following permission from the Colonial Secretary, Mr. W. OrmsbyGore, for the establishment of a wireless transmitting station on the world's loneliest island, Tristan Da Cunha, in the South Atlantic, Dr. Erling Christophersen is proceeding to Cape Town as the head of an expedition which will leave Cape Town for the island about November 22 with a radio unit, a comolete meteorological station, two zoologists, and two botanists. The meteorological unit hopes to provide South Africa with weather forecasts.
