RECALLED TO ROME
SPYING CHARGE AGAINST VICE-CONSUL
LONDON, November 4. The Paris correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that it is understood the Italian Vice-Consul at Port Vendres, near the Spanish border on the Mediterranean, has been recalled to Rome after accusations of duplicating his consular activities with espionage on behalf of Italy. He was accused of possessing a wireless transmitter and advising his Government of movements of Mediterranean shipping.
