BRITISH MANUFACTURERS " PERTURBED
"ONE-SIDED PACT"
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 5, 1 p.m.) LONDON, November 4. Perturbed by reports from Wellington that the British and New Zealand Governments are negotiating a new trade agreement which it is believed will adversely affect exports to the Dominion, the'Natlonal Union of Manufacturers has sent a letter to the Board .of Trade asking if the reports are correct, "There is widespread dissatisfaction among manufacturers with the onesidedness of the Ottawa Agreements n* at present," t&e letter states, "and any movement in the direction of altering these, thereby increasing further the handicap against this country, must add to the anxiety. The amount of manufactured goods entering Britain from British countries is increasing and is likely to increase further. As' American capital in Canada and the British Eastern possessions is likely to fully use this extraordinary privilege, it will be a serious matter for the British workers, who, owing to this hole in the Ottawa agreements, have been displaced by workers m the Dominion and cheap Asiatic labour.
