ARSON ALLEGED

FIRE AT SHOW BUILDING

Charged that on Octouer 1 tie wilfully set fire to the Winter Show Building, , Wellington. John O'Grady, labourer, aged 52, appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Mr. R. Hardie Boys apeared for the accused. Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle said that the accused was arrested yesterday afternoon by Detectives N. J, McPhee and S. C. Browne. He asked for a remand until next Friday. In the accused's own interests and those of the public, he did not recommend the granting of bail. The offence would be admitted.

The remand was granted and bail was refused.
