DELIGHTFUL "AT HOME"

A particularly happy gathering of old friends took place at the home of Mrs. W. H. Rose, Clifton Terrace, yesterday, when she entertained her sister-in-law, Mrs. C. V. Houghton, of Auckland, and a number of her old friends. The house was decorated with many bowls of mixed flowers, and the tea table in the dining-room, where afternoon tea was served, was gay with Iceland poppies. Mrs. Rose, who was in a reception gown of slate blue wool crepe,' was assisted in entertaining by her daughter, Miss Marjorie Rose, who was in a graceful frock of black silk marocain with a large flowered pattern, and by Mrs. McClurg (daughter of Mrs. Houghton), who wore a smart frock of black crepe with narrow kiltings of scarlet, and a small high-crowned hat.
