Police and departmental summons I cases were dealt with in the MagLs- [ trate's Court today by Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M. Exposing liquor for sale after hours cost Denis Cremins, licensee of the Dominion Hotel, £5 and costs. . Arthur Lemmon, contractor, was fined £5 and costs for using machinery for which a permit had not t»«. granted. For casting offensive matter in a public place, Allan Norman Wilkie was fined 10s and costs. Mrs. W. Teasdale Billington was fined 10s and costs for failing to alloy/ an assistant a half-holiday from noon. Margaret Burns was fined a similar amount for working after noon on the day of a statutory half-holiday. For failing to close his shop at 1 p.m. for the remainder of the day.'V. B.
