HALLOWE'EN

PIONEER CLUB CELEBRATES

- Hallowe'en was celebrated by the Pioneer Club members last night, when they held a party at the clubrooms. Most pf those who attended were in fancy dress, and the traditional decora,tiohs bt witches,' hobgoblins, and ghosts adorned the walls. These were the work of Mrs. C. Westonand there were bowls of beautiful iris and arum lilies arranged about the rooms.

A programme of short plays, songs, sketches, and amusing burlesques of the Marcus Show, the Russian Ballet, and the Don Cossacks, was given by the Dramatic Circle.

Miss Amy Kane was the winner of a prize for the best-representation of a queen of any period. . She was dressed as the White . Queen • from "Alice in Wonderland." Others representing queens were Mrs.G. H. King (Mary Queen of Scots), Mfs. Cecil Presham (Hitsu, a Manchu emptess), Mrs. Sydney Castle (a Spanish queen), Miss Daisy Isaacs (Kathleen Ijtow'ard), Miss Hilda Taylor (Queen Elizabeth), Miss Tanned (Queen Anne), MjssMona i'Brien (Anne of Cleves), and Missißen■ri'ett (a Chinese empress). '
